This object was shot with A95 with a +10 close up lens. 1/125 s, F8, Flash off, spot metering. I am still trying to improve my macro shot with my existing camera. Comments and critics are welcomed.

I repost this because I miss the attachment in my previous post.

Thats a very good shot of a ladybird- they are pretty difficult because of the high reflectivity of their shells. Only area for improvement would be the framing of the pic- It's better to try to give the bug some headroom in whichever way it's facing, so in this case cropping it so the bug is further over to the left would give a better composition.

This lady bird was shot in East Malaysia, On the Island of Borneo. It was on a tree in an open field. The weather is nice, with sufficient sun light.

Thanks for your kind words. F8 is the highest possible for A95. Sometimes I have to take away the close-up lens, shot and crop, just to get more DOF.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I will try cropping it again when I get hold of my original image.

is it that you cropped it from a larger area ? why not trying to pre-compose your shot ? it gives you a very nice feeling , but a less error margin

great shot, thanx for sharing

Borneo - now i'm jealous, must be about the best macro country on the planet.
