I gave him the proper info to get his flash to fire off camera. his comment was having the pop-up flash fire and whether or not it would always do that when controlling the 430 wirelessly from the 7D. I own a 5D II, and do not have wireless triggering capabilities built-in, so that part I did not know.

my answer to that question was asking him what mode his camera was in, as I know if you have your camera in program or automatic, the flash will automatically pop-up. He didn't give that information out, so who's to say he didn't have his camera in one of the automatic settings and will make the flash pop up each time?
