Springtime always gets me going! I love to garden and it has always given me inspiration to use my camera to combine two of the things that I enjoy. So with the unusually early Spring like weather here in the Denver area of Colorado, I actually started this project at the end of Winter. It took me almost a month to finish getting all the footage and I assembled some of it as I shot.

I ended up using a lot of different techniques in creating this film. I used most of my production tools available to me including some footage using my new jib. I'm still working out a few kinks in it so I didn't use it much for this.
The dolly/slider got good usage for this as well as some of my macro gear. You'll also see some "lens whacking" in there.

Please let me know how I did. Please C&C and tell me what you think?

Thanks!

Very nice clean work. What lenses did you use for your video? I put together a similar compilation, but yours has given me some ideas of how I could improve mine. Thanks for posting.

I was about to say make your transitions just a tab bit slower.....but then re watched and found it was my computer instead...

just a quick question (as im still learning) when you are filming the ants is that an example of rolling shutter?

Well done though, I really liked the handheld part of the flower, the rocking back and forth kinda would bug me on most videos, but to the tune of the music it worked well.

It was a mix of most of my lenses that I use on a daily basis.

Canon Glass:
24-70 f2.8L
70-200 f4L
85 f1.8
50 f1.8 Mk I

Tamron glass:
10-24 SP Di f3.5-4.5
1.4x TC

Other lens modifiers:
Kenko extension tubes

I'm not sure about your question about the ants and rolling shutter. Maybe it's still your computer? But I'll look at that section again to see if I understand what you're talking about.

As for the hand held stuff, that's what lens whacking is. It pretty much requires that you hand hold the camera and the lens because they aren't attached. I also normally don't care for that look, but it fits the music like you said.

Thanks!

Damn man you're getting such good quality on these! You sure it's a Canon? lol

Didn't mind the lens whacking tbh thought it suited nicely

Thanks man! I like the wierdness of the lens whacking stuff. Maybe its the bee's point of view? Or maybe it was just the beat of the music that needed something different.

Again, thanks for the kind words.
