This is again, another few weeks of perseverance, until I was able to get a few decent shots of the yellow-headed blackbird. He is always in the reeds, you can only hear him, but won't see him. This changed when another male arrived and they started to fight for the female.

And here's the magic :). Don't worry, there are no animals hurt in this picture :)

Joe, so very cool that you made the captures. Congratulations. All are good, but your in flight photograph is perfect!

The magic shot is way too much fun. I wonder what possessed him to position himself that way. Great that you caught it!

They're all good, really like 1 and 3, and guess I'm sleepy, it took me awhile to figure out what's going on in the magic picture #4. Nice series.

Thanks Jeremy, I got these shots at around 4~5pm, I think they are more active at this time.

Great series; we used to have them, but they have retreated a bit further west of us again.

Thanks Al, love the birds, but hate the calls :D, it's like a male cat courting a female cat

Thanks Sharon, the positive side of not having these birds is you have an excuse to travel to see them :)

I'd love to run across one of these guys and it looks like they can be seen in the east but rarely. A great looking set. Very well done.
