Just got my 17 TS-E today and I've been playing around with it all day on my less than a week old 5D3.

These two are incredible together. The improved LCD display and LiveView, with built in level and grids, makes thing really easy.

Here's a shot at ISO 3200, 10 sec, ƒ11 - this is virtually straight out of the camera, no noise reduction at all, in camera or PP, just a crop.

Awesome details, and the noise pattern is stunning. I can't wait to get real shots in the field with this.

Very nice, Todd!

Can't wait to see what you'll produce with that combo once you really get the hang of the 17mm TS-E!

I am also very excited to see what kind of pictures you'll be taking. I've loved looking at your photos ever since I joined the forum!

Thanks guys! :o

Ive never been afraid of using gear before, but with the front end on this lens, I'm a bit nervous. I'm sure that will pass with some time, but right now, I think about it a lot! LOL

Yeah, that bulbous front element is very conspicuous. Hard not to be a little extra careful with it.

I was surprised that you didn't remove the lenscap of the 17mm TS-E for that insurance "gear" photo you took...just to see how cool that front element looks. LOL

Uh oh, I've been procrastinating getting the 5DIII, this post is a major nudge in that direction. People that have not shot the TS-E17 or TS-E24II don't realize what you're saying.

Nice one Todd. The 100% crop at 3200 iso SOOC from this combo is mental.

It just went out of stock at Adorama and B&H. I think we're safe for a while! :D

hehehe, sorry guys. I am believing more and more that this is definitely a worthy upgrade from the 5D2. The best way I can describe it is it seems like a 1D stuffed into a 5D body.
