I used two 5D2 in the past and finally I bough my own one yesterday. It is a used (9000 exp. body). I started to use it in studio with my 70-200 2.8 IS L (worked well with the other bodies) at f/9. The images are very soft comparing to the orher 5D2's that I used. What could be the problem?

Here are some samples (both of them are focused on eye):

Have you tried micro-adjusting? Though if it's out at f9, that might be beyond MA's capabilities. (Might want to post the pics...I generally don't click on random links from members with only a handful of posts, so I'm just guessing without having seen your pictures).

Although it's neat to see a URL from my homeland haha.

I refreshed with the links. I haven't ried MA. This lens worked well with the other bodies and the difference is huge.

It doesn't look terribly soft to me, but it seems like the focus is sharper around her tie (the edges of the seams and the fabric of her shirt) than on her eyes.

I don't think there is any way to be sure without a direct 1:1 comparison with another 5d2, same shot/setup same lens on a tripod with a static target focused in LV. Only then can you rule out all other variables.

Just looking at a picture and saying it looks soft without a comparison is kind of subjective unless there is something really really obvious.

If it is used, I would reset the camera by removing both the main and backup battery and try again. if the pics still look soft to you, it wouldn't hurt to send to Canon for service and calibration.
