Rose-Breasted Grosbeak
This was an exciting first sighting of this particular bird for me. Never in all my years hiking in northern Maryland and southern Pennsylvania have I actually seen one. I equate capturing an image on any first sighting to a hole in one for a golfer. Some days your just at the right place at just the right time (lucky).

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.
While I have seen the Yellow Grosbeak on many occasion this was a really lucky surprise. I was setup with a 500mm waiting for a shot at a Red-Tail Hawk that’s been hanging around the back of the house. I would have preferred more light on the subject, but I’ll take what I can get. I got to play the lottery, yesterday while setting in the blind waiting/wishing for another glimpse a Male Indigo Bunting dropped in. I’ll try to post some images I captured on another thread of this beautiful blue bird. Thanks again for stopping by and looking in.
Wayne

Beautiful bird. We see them in our area of Ontario frequently.
