My worst was a 75-300 (which I used with a 300D) ... and I didn't even realize it until I got a 70-300 IS! My worst now is a Sigma 30mm, I should really send it in and see if they can fix the focus issue it has ... but I wonder even then if I would use it a lot.

Other than the Sigma 30 right now, my least used lenses are my primes ... 24 f/2.8, 50 f1/4, and 85 f/1.8. I always seem to decide to use a zoom instead, and since four of them are L's and three of those have IS, I seem to get by with the narrower aperture. If I have to, I bump the ISO on the 5DM2 (especially) and the 7D (better than doing that with the 50D I must say).

I have used one non-L zoom, the Sigma 8-16, quite a bit too, because it is so, so wide ... but it's my newest lens, so maybe it is because it is "fresher" ... I also love the 17-55 f/2.8 IS on the crop.

I am a sucker for the faster prime glass and all it promises it would do, but when it gets down to it, I LOVE IS more ... so my primes stay in the bag, or at home.

Same. I found it for just 80 bucks at a street market, 300mm lens for $80, why not?
However it's insanely soft and has simply awful image quality, I don't even bother to list it in my signature, using the 55-250mm until I can afford the 70-300mm DO, I need something small, tele and discrete to pass through stadium security. ;) Though the 55-250mm does the job pretty well.

I had a 55-250 IS for a time, and thought it it as good as the bigger and more expensive 70-300 IS I also owned. I needed up selling them both, when i got the 70-200L f/4 IS. Paired with a good Kenko TC, this gives me almost 300 in a lighter package with great IS, albeit at f/5.6.

Surely you must have a bad copy if it's worse than your "fecked kit lens (now with reverse ring)"

Sigma 50... MFAed, Sent to sigma twice and just got rid of it later down the road. Strange enough, my friend a sigma 50 that focuses tack sharp.

Definately the Kit 28-135 IS USM lens was the worst lens I ever owned (including built in lenses on point and shoot cameras). The IQ was so bad I almost returned the 40D Kit because the IQ was the same or worse than the digital ELPH point and shoot it replaced, then I got the 17-55 and everything was golden.

^ Wow, all 4 of the 28-135mm IS lenses I have owned have all been great. I've never had a problem that would make me want to get rid of it right away.

Odd that there are so many 28 - 135's cropping up ... I have the early 35 - 135 and it's a darling.

"Worst" lens of mine has to be the insanely fun Tokina 500mm f8 Cat lens. Only because it's near impossible to focus on the 10D ... (FD mount, FD- EOS adapter with glass - for my other FD lenses).

Thinking of getting an adapter with no glass to see if this lens sharpens up at all ... and then not taking pics of things too far away.

The Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM. I got this with my first Canon DLSR and I could never get a sharp pic with it. In fact it nearly turned me off Canon DLSR cameras for life - well until I decided the problem was a mix of my poor photography skills and its blurriness;)
