Yeah I've seen a lot of that in the last couple of years. That sort of thing trickles down, can't be good for anyone.

Great subject friend. So true and so sad. BUT so controversial.... I see many elements in this shot that need to be exposed. Take a 55 up into the window and shoot the "true Grit" of how this business failed....shoot anything you can find laying around that tells that kind of story, Show us how the American "company" does not exist anymore... Show us how this ****ty service station was once owned by infidels. Great start. Get up in there!

Infidels do come in all forms of life, wether from another country, or our own, so for the most part, the true infidel is the one that harms children of course! I have no care to castrate anyone that harms a child, or of course a lady, however, our laws have become weakend, as people claim we would become like "them"! How would one become like "them" when serving justice to a child raper, or murderer? I am less human, if I decide to rip the shrunken testes off some infidel child harmer, man, or woman? I am a monster, if I want to end the life of someone who has stolen my daughters innocene? Well good ol Jo Bi den said it would be so if we don't give, give, give??!! His words, not mine, his, and their feelings not mine. I am a proud American of Mexican descent, yet, I have no care if a fellow "Latino" rapes their own child, I have no reason to feel different, I am human first, and "race" last! I am human fisrt, and American last, I am God's child first, and insane last! My God may not exist, if he tell's me I must kill in order to spread his word, plain, and simple. Ok, sorry to hijack the thread, I just felt like making my peace!

Tell us how you really feel... Times like this a little levity is needed. I have no clue what you are talking about anyway.
I like the pic though, funny how a thread title can evoke such strange responses.

Well i can say that I knew the family that ran this business and they were American, born and bred. Sadly when the bailout happened this dealership was one that was cut for whatever reasoning there was at that time.

Regardless, no infidels were included or harmed in the creation of this photo.

So some real C&C would be appreciated.

Wait what?

Sorry ..I am from a small town where lots of drug addicts fail out of buildings like these...trying to be a business. I was basically replying to madjack's previous comment. Not really sure what Gojira was ranting about?

wait, no wait what...WHAT?

I feel sorry for them, but DAMN how does that happen? We need to keep American small business alive...It sucks to see so many vacant buildings... This is not Chernobyl...My hometown was the same way...thats why I GTFO.... couldn't stand it anymore plus I couldn't find work.

For C&C...this is a news paper photo... not bad... but nothing special.. for what seems like bright sun, the exposure is good, and you did a good job of framing the entire store... The cropping matches the subject well.

OK, see you are editing your comments and I appreciate your thoughts, not sure where you "come from" but appreciate your thoughts on where we are going.....

This is what inspired me to take this shot. I'm interested in others responses, as well as yours.

I apologize if my post took your thread in another direction. It wasn't intentional. I was just bouncing around the forum and didn't realize I was in the Critque thread when I posted my thoughts.

What is the environment around this building like? I feel like if we could see more surroundings; other empty parking lots, closed businesses, empty streets, etc, the image would convey more of what you are going for. I think instead of trying to get the whole building in the frame, maybe the front, from a closer vantage that emphasizes that the building is vacant/deserted, while also showing the general decline of the neighboring businesses that maybe once relied on this dealership. Just my two cents.

Maybe a little more backstory would be helpful. What kind of business was this and what bailout is being referenced (we've had a few as I recall)? It's always sad when someone loses their livelihood. It seems to be happening more and more as more and more "American" companies find it more profitable to move operations overseas. Neither major political party has made any significant move to counter this trend so it seems it will likely continue. I think the photo might be more powerful with a lone person walking away with a shipping box in his hand - or something similar.
