Long Story Short...

Newbie with my first SLR Canon Rebel XSi. I like long exposures but I realized that this camera doesn't have something like "Rear Flash"?

I want to be able to shoot the flash in "Bulb" mode only when the shutter close's and not when it opens. If I choose the 1st Curtain, it flash when it opens. If I choose 2nd curtain, it shoot when it opens and when it close's the shutter.

Any way to make it shoot the flash only when it closes the shutter?

When I got in to the "Flash Funtions" and "Shutter Sync I have the following:

Built in flash setting:
1st Curtain
2nd Curtain

No it's not.

The first flash you are seeing when the shutter opens isn't actually lighting the scene. It's happening a split second before the shutter opens and the camera is using that to determine what power the flash should be on. The flash that goes off at the end of the exposure is the only one that's actually lighting anything up.
