Hey guys, I've just purchased a 1Ds Mark 2; I'm super excited about it because I've wanted this camera for a very long time. I see you guys were talking about the EOS utility. I have windows 7 on my computer. Will I be able to download my pics from the camera with it or will it not be compatible?

The files themselves can be read by whatever software you are using so there are no concerns on that front.

When it comes to getting the images from the camera to the computer, dedicated card readers are so much faster than connecting directly to the camera that I have no idea whether you can download directly from the camera or not. Honestly, the USB ports on my 7D and other cameras could all be broken and I wouldn't know because I haven't connected them in so long. Decent card readers are cheaper than the cards that go in them so there's no reason not to have one.

With a dedicated card reader to pull images off the cards, EOS Utility is only needed for changing the personal functions and I've never needed to change them since when first bought the camera and entered my name for the copyright info.

Here's one from yesterdays family shoot. Kat is the oldest of 4 kids and loved posing for the camera, which as y'all know is ALWAYS a plus! Her younger sister was the exact opposite and hated the camera, barely managed a grin the entire session. This was using the original 70-200 2.8 IS.

Hello.
Very nice pictures here!!!
I have a question for 1DSmk2 owners: Is 32gb cards (both CF and SD) accepted by 1dsmk2?
Thanks.

Mine works ok with the 32GB CF cards, just sometimes balks on buffer overruns when the card is too fast. Haven't put a SD in it so far.

I haven't used a large CF card but I have used a 32GB SD card -- it is a class 10 but seems to work much slower than my 16GB card which is supposedly slower, like class 4 I believe.

Not sure the reason other than the general concept that huge cards didn't exist when this camera was made, so weird things happen. :)

I primarily shoot with a 16GB SD and a few 4GB CF cards.

I'm shooting a wedding today, I went to the venue for a good walk around yesterday and there are some great looking locations in the grounds. The unfortunate thing is that there is now a severe weather warning and thunderstorms forecast all afternoon, the venue is pretty limited for indoor group shots as well :( Not what you want for your first solo wedding!!!

Wow JJ! Looks like you could spend all day photographing the grounds! Best of luck that all turns out well, hope to see some fantastic shots! ;)
