Apparently Butch and Pat have models too, maybe you should join them Manish! ;)

^^Honestly, if I could go to Cali. for even a week, that'd be awesome. Work gets in the way of that. :(

That would be cool if both of you come out here for a visit...heck, i'm pretty sure Butch & I will host you guys around the OC.

...I think of this shot as taken with Manish (IDX) but I have to pinch myself that it's not hehehe. What do you guys think..?

Nice shot of the ferris wheel.

Patrick...I like it. Some serious waves. And thanks for the hospitality. Some day, should I be able to make it out to the WC, I'll definitely let ya know. ;)

Nice night shots there Geek...like em!

Pat, that's very surreal...has a quality to it that just makes you keep studying it. Well done! And yeah, would certainly love to get out that way but for funds, ya know? My Uncle used to live in LA, was a commercial artist at Warner Bros for many years. He passed away a couple years ago now at 86. I remember as a kid going to visit and going out with my cousin's husband in a home made hot rod, crusin the blvd and going to the beach. Wish I had pics from then.....some 35 years ago or more hahaha.

They highlighted the fact that I need to get me some ND filters, even at ISO 50 they were metering too fast for interesting shots.

Nice shooting everyone! And congrats to Manish on the 1DsX!

Been working on other people's photos and reprocessing their stuff for the past while so didn't have much of my own to offer up here. But here's a fresh one, which is a composite and shot with the ts-e45!

Thanks Jeff. Cool lookin' shot you have there. I see you've grown to love that lens, huh?

Some serious dedication in the middle image, Dimych. I like looking at snow...not so much living with it, anymore. :)

With summer in full swing here we had some nice soft light today so I took the 1DS2 out to capture a few images, here is one taken from a hill close to my house.

Quick question for you guys, do you think its worthwhile trading my 70-200 F4 and 85 1.8 for a 70-200 2.8? I got to use someone elses 70-200 2.8 IS and it was great having that wider aperture. I read in a review on the digital picture that the guy reviewing it doesn't use his 85 1.8 since he got a 70-200 2.8.

Oh, IS isn't really a must have for me, I prefer using flash anyway.

I personally disliked working with 70-200 f/2.8's, especially the white ones. They were often off putting to my subjects, drew attention when I didn't want it and were awkward and heavy. And f/2.8 isn't all that fast imo. Considering you use flash anyway, I'd stick with the lighter f/4.

My 2 centavos.
