Hi all. Sorry, but another Hubble palette narrowband image from me. This time the Running Chicken Nebula IC2944 in Centaurus. Skies have been sensational here in Brisbane the last few nights, and look like there's a couple more coming up too. Light polluted city, but seeing has been pretty good.

I'm still learning how to process these. I'll get some comments in the astro forums that this is too green. Need to learn how to blend a bit better. But the raw data is the best I've captured. Ever.

PS - this target may not be that familiar to northern hemisphere guys. See if you can see the chicken. Took me ages to find it. Hint - it's a silhouette, not the bright nebulosity.

PPS - see if you can find a little planetary nebula in there too ;)

Chicken's in the bottom left flapping its wings?

The photo looks fantastic!

Thanks guys. The "running chicken" is actually top right. It's the darker silhouetted outline in the brighter curved nebulosity, and the chicken is upside down.

I've posted a different mapping of filters to colours. This one more closely represents the true colours, as best as I can get anyway.

Thanks mate. It definitely does look more like what we expect, so think that makes it look more appealing.

BTW here is my markup of where the chicken is :)
