I'm starting to order for some stuff to start my photography hobby and I'm looking to get a lens hood and polarizer, are they all the same? Any certain type or brand I should get?

Any certain type or brand I should get? Careful of ebay and similar sites. Even if the plastic is the right shape in the knockoff of the Canon hood, it may not be lined with the fabric flocking to prevent light from bouncing around the inside of the hood. Jay

Wilt Reader's Digest Condensed version of War and Peace [POTN Vol 1] More info | May 12, 2012 20:30 | #6 An EF lens has a hood designed for the wider AOV that the FF camera captures; in some cases, there are other lens hoods made for other lenses, which work well on an APS-C camera to provide more complete flare protection since APS-C captures a narrower AOV due to its smaller sensor size. EF-S lenses will come with a specified hood which is best suited for APS-C frame size. You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost!
