Enjoy your 5D while you still can, and let's check back in 2~3 years. When I sold mine last year, the color of the LCD display was already slightly off.

A digital camera is basically a mini computer, almost no tolerance to error (unlike simpler electronics or mechanical stuff). As its parts age, the reliability/useability will greatly decrease.

I still have my 2nd digital camera, a Nikon 5700, 10 years old now. It was one of the highly regarded digital cameras of its day. I bought the camera at the same time with 2 of my friends. One of them had a bad sensor, the other had a bad lens motor, all within 5 years. Mine still works "perfectly", well, the lcd color isn't so right, and most importantly, from around 7 years old, I started to notice more and more hot pixels. Now it's basically useless except taking 800x600 for sale item pictures.

If you think your 5D can last forever, good luck. My personal experience tells me that old electronics at certain age is NOT WORTH buying. Why? Buy a 5Dc for $1000, you are risking loosing it all in 2 years. Buy a 5D III for $3500, you sell it in 2 years for $2500, but you are enjoying newest technology and THINKING LESS about your camera and MORE about taking pictures.

5Dc's sell all the time anywhere from $700-$800, sometimes with the grip and extra batteries. It will depreciate at about $100 per year. The 5D2 has depreciated about the cost if a used 5Dc over the past year. The 5D3 should depreciate about the same amount over that time period.

The 5Dc offers great value and pro image quality for what OP wants to use it for. Not all of us are willing to part with $3500--or even $1500--for a body when a $750 body can produce breathtaking images for a few years while working towards a more advanced body down the road.

Crop bodies have come a long way. For professional use a 60d is as good as any newer crop body out there. For wedding photog output, the imagery produced is more important than the IQ. Sounds kinda odd but most folks/clients look at the expression, "moment" and composition. IQ from the 60D would look great on print and websize samples to the clients.

I would grab a 5dc before a crop due to dof effect. IQ wise a 60d/7d is quite decent. The 5dc has crisp sharp files compared to a 7D with strong AA filter (smudgey).

I would go with a 60D for the purpose of having something new with warranty. Also potentially more reliable since the body is new with little actuations. Later purchase a 5dmk2 or 5dmk3. The 60D doesn't have Micro adjust so test new lenses carefully for back/front focus.

Since I own a 5dc for many years I wont let it go easily because I know the history of my body and photos I can produce with it. Somebody jumping into the canon world may find the 5dc really sluggish and experience its "age" of the slower processor. Portraits wise the 5dc would be noticeably better to my eyes. However put it in print and the either body will produce great prints.

My point?? Printing is the equalizer. Most clients are far less critical than a photog. Diving into wedding photography a B/G will show off printed albums in most cases. 60D iq is great so skills of lighting/exposure/composition is more critical than equipment.
