I've heard of software that searches out duplicates, but I don't have anything and can't recall specifics. Maybe someone else will chime in here.

What software are you using to sort through/organize your photos?

I have Auslogics Duplicate File Finder (external link) that was recommended in another thread. Seems to do a good job across different folders, but I haven't tried it on multiple drives.

I use one called, imaginatively enough, just plain old "Duplicate File Finder". It's old - hasn't been updated in years, but it works fine on Windows 7 64 bit, and also works across multiple folders or drives. It's what I used when I decided I needed to clean up my image library.

The best is backing up files I have ZenOK Online Backup (external link) and No problems and it performs everything it says it is capable of doing. Easy to set up and use. Very great tool to provide your remote access to multiple pc's

The problem that you are going to have is being able to search across all 3 computers (because I'm assuming you're concerned that you have "image 1" on pc 1, pc 2, AND pc 3. The Auslogic software faq indicates it does NOT work on network drives. You may wind up having to move all the pictures onto a single drive then run duplicate file software against that single large library.

Haven't used the above two programs, but I have another one for you to try: http://www.identicalfiles.com/Home (external link). I've used it in the past, and like any of these tools, you need to be very careful of what you are deleting, because it is easy to get wrapped up on "clean up" and accidentally delete too much.

I use Vistanita Duplicate Finder, it has worked very well for me. But seems they have discontinued sales.
