PM sent to scatterbrained but he has not been on in a week+.
If I don't hear back from him by tonight, would teekay be willing to jump in & host the next challenge? :)

I sent Scatter a PM as well, no reply.

Since pappawheely came in second, he is next in line to host the next challenge. He's not logged in in three days, but I'll pm him as well.

If pappawheely is a no-go, then Kevan is next in line to host the Challenge. If that falls through, then it's up to volunteers.

Sorry 'bout that guys, I was on vacation and didn't have signal in our resort, so I was without internet for a week. :o:confused::mad:

Great job Scatterbrained! And great photos everybody. I hope this is a taste of a great summer of challenges. And thanks Jason for your commentary on each photo!!!

I'm a bit of a novice, but about the camera shake... Is that just going to happen sometimes? Or is there something I should be doing differently? I had the camera on a tripod, used a wireless remote, turned off the IS, and had the mirror locked. I thought 1/30s should have been okay on a tripod. Maybe I'm zoomed in too far? Any thoughts would be welcomed, thanks!

The tripod itself could be transmitting vibrations. I have a Vanguard that we picked up at Costco to hold our camcorder, it's not too solid will will shake for quite a bit before settling down. If you extend the center column it just exacerbates the situation. Of course, this is variable from one tripod to another, but can be a factor.

Could have also been wind. At 1/30, even though on a tripod.. a slight breeze could move the flower, and show as slight motion-blur.

Thanks guys. I didn't think it could be the flower, that makes sense. I will also look in to getting a better tripod. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing with my setup as far as settings.
