Anyone read reviews about cheaper fast compactflash cards which were very positive and bought an alternative brand ?

For example this one, 32GB and 600x

Is there any website that compares alternative brands also ?

I've had the transcend 32gb 400x which seems to be very popular given its price, but did have a faulty one (out of three owned).

I'd say just skip out on seeking 'hidden gems' for CF cards; there's way too many unsure/unverifiable ones to make it worth the savings.

thousands of $$ invested in gear... and you want to skimp on a few $$ for memory?

Sandisk, Lexar, Transcend, Kingston... between those 4 you can get various levels of reliability, speed and value - no need to look elsewhere

Exactly. I would never skimp on no-name memory cards. Definitely not worth it in my opinion.
