Has anyone used this:

It's almost to cheap to be real, but let's face it so are the plastics used to make the OEM units.

Do yourself a favor and stick to the official Canon ones.

Looks like 46 Amazon customers answered your question. Mine is a aftermarket Meike and still working perfectly after a year of using it 100% of the time. Just search the forums for battery grips, tons of posts on this.

I've got a Mieke and a Ziekos grip for each of my two bodies. Can't tell the difference between the two and both are working perfectly after 2+ years.

I bought the Opteka for my XSi which got great reviews and it didn't wear well at all. After a year of moderate use, the shutter button went soft, and the material started peeling. The improper tolerances also resulted in a trip to Canon service to repair my battery box. I learned an expensive lesson since my rebel was out of warranty. I saved alot of money on the price of the grip but spent $200 for the repair. Only OEM grips for me....

I have this grip and it works perfectly, no reason to spend over $100 more for the canon version.

I've used the Meike grip on my 60D since October and love it. I had the Canon grip on my XSi and there's no way I would spend that much money on a battery grip again.

Ive been using an opteka grip from amazon for my T2i. Its on there 100% o the time and going strong for over a year and a half now.

It works well but its showing signs of wear, the grip material is peeling away from the plastic and I had to repair it with some gorilla glue because the the screw that connects to the tripod mount broke loose.

I have a Meike grip similar to the one in the link, except mine has the LCD display and IR remote. The grip seems to be very well made, actually, and fits my XS (1000D) perfectly. I've really enjoyed the greater comfort and having the vertical controls, as well as the AA battery tray option. However, I have NOT enjoyed the LCD display/IR remote. Neither works reliably, I've found, and there is also a problem with battery drain because of this stupid LCD. So, my recommendation is to stick with the one in the above link, and to resist the temptation to go after the additional bells and whistles.

I had the Zeikos and I have the Canon brand for my T1i (which is backward compatible to the XSi), I like the Canon one better. However! The Zeikos grip is about $50 if not less and the Canon one is much more expensive (at least 2-3x if not more). I think the Zeikos one is sufficient for almost any situation, so if you can't find a Canon one for cheap just go with the aftermarket one. Spend the difference and get more batteries and a nice tripod or bag.

I used the Zeikos grip, never had a single problem with it. I'd totally buy another Zeikos branded grip if I ever decided to use one again.
