Canadian copyright law -- has something changed ?

As some of you may know Canadian law has differed from most countries in that, absent a contract to the contrary, copyright is held by default by the client contracting the photography rather than the photographer.

But does anyone know if this has changed in the last 6 months ? I'd like to update my contract, and I can't quite find 1) whether or not it has changed and 2) what the exact provision is.

I know that there was a proposed change but I can't say what stage it was/is at.

You can now register copyright with CIPO, which I believe is recent since end if 2011.
