Hi, I have a few more swallow pictures.

Purple Martin.
These are the biggest of the swallows and have nested exclusively on nest boxes for more than 100 years.

Northern Rough-winged Swallow
I thought these were immature violet-greens because the face looks the same. The colors are not as striking but they certainly are very cute. I was hoping that they would land on the few branches but they like the wires because it is closer to the water.

And a couple more of the Violet-Green Swallow
I found a spot where these violet-greens rest when they get tired, I think mostly because it is soo hot recently.

Nice shots; I don't think I've seen a purple martin since I was a kid. Just last week though we found a flock of the rough-winged swallows flying right through and around a big concrete culvert over a creek at breakneck speed; fun to watch.

Thanks Al, I'm not gonna ask how many years ago :). The swallows do like to speed in bulk, they are indeed a sight to enjoy :)

Joe, that may be the best rendition of Purple Martin colors that I've seen in a long time. Love these little ones. It must have been fun to make the photos. I see them on wires all the time. They must like it up there. The Violet-greens are so very interesting. I wonder if we have them here.

Thank you Lil, your words brings joy and lightens up the day :) Of all the swallows I think my favorites are the violet-greens and I found a few of them very close to my house. I am still looking for the place they rest and hopefull take some pics :)
