At that part of the track cars are typically running 225 mph. It takes some work to keep the cars in frame with the Sigma 150-500mm that was being used. (A Tamron 70-300mm VC was used in the third image of Bryan Clauson in the No. 39.)

Some great panning shots here. The car designs have changed a bit. I follow F1...not usually Indy.....they look strange, but in a cool way.

Yeah I agree, these cars are new for 2012, and they've been fitted with some additional aero bodywork for Indy - I believe esp. those rear wing packages. Not a great look, IMO but I'm no aerodynamicist :)

Anyway, Great set DC Fan !!!
