Newspapers

Just a thought,, who here still reads newspapers? Not online but the real McCoy?

One of my pleasures in life,, a good coffee (or two) and a newspaper.

I do. Two of them every morning with breakfast. The local one and the San Francisco Chronicle.

I have not read a paper copy of the news in many, many years. It is so much easier and less expensive to read it online.

I do still enjoy read books in bindings though...

I read them when they're free at hotels.

Nope, I don't. I do read paper magazines though (National Geographic etc).

Washington Post every day; Express (their "commuter paper") weekdays on the train. Reading the whole paper forces me to be at least aware of a broader range of coverage than you will typically notice from a web site.

I get the paper version delivered. But don't get time every day to read it. But others in the house
do. The rest of the time I read it online over lunch. The coffee breaks are reserved for POTN

I read the Bangkok Post and Vientiane Times every day. The Bangkok Post is the only international newspaper available in Laos, and a fine newspaper. Every day the Bangkok Post is delivered to the cafe next to my place of work. I grab a coffee and spend about 30 minutes reading it.

The Vientiane Times is the only English newspaper in Laos. Not the best of newspapers as it is still government controlled

I get the daily every day but that doesn't mean I don't watch CNN too. The more sources you access the more you can determine what is really happening out there!

The last time I subscribed to a paper, I had moved in to this place. The papers ended up piling up unread, taking up space, so I unsubscribed. Yeah, that means that I'm often late on getting local news, and sometimes events I'd be interesting come and go before I find out about them. Occasionally I'll check out the paper Web sites or a local events calendar, and I'm also subscribed to the Facebook feed for the large Portland, OR daily.

I don't think I've ever read a newspaper other than the comics section when I was a young tyke... I do glance through the headlines on a few newspapers' web sites, but even that's only a couple times per week. And, I almost never watch the news on TV.

I hear about things via friends...
