Went back to NYC for a visit this past weekend. Visiting makes me miss living there! anyhow, I dragged myself out of bed early one morning and took some sunrise photos of the city, over the Hudson River. They came out pretty well, (IMO, at least). All photos taken from Jersey City, NJ.

Beautiful vantage point! Where in Jersey city was this location? I usually shoot from the Alexander Hamilton Park in Weehauken but I like this view as a change and I would like to try a few from here. Much appreciated if you have directions. :-)

Sure! It was taken from the boardwalk between Newport and Hoboken. It's right across the road from the Target by the Holland Tunnel. You can check the geotag on the flickr photos for an exact location.

Getting up early really paid nice dividends.
Amazing how the colors change so quickly early in the morning.

I know! It's crazy. The pinks came and went so quickly it seemed like I barely had time to get any photos of them.

Nice.....At the risk of sounding stupid, are all those squares old piers from a boardwalk all in the river there or what?

They are from old piers that used to exist there when it was a working industrial waterfront.
