I am a hobbyist, and I keep 16 of my best pictures hanging on my homes office wall to show friends and family, I have shot second at a few weddings and some of those are my better photos. Part of me thinks it is kind of weird to hang photos of strangers in your house. There are 2 or 3 I want to use though, what do you guys do?

If they give you pleasure and you're proud of them, why not? If you're lucky, maybe a friend with a friend (or niece, nephew, cousin, etc...) getting married may see them and you'll book the gig!

I say go for it....I have a photo that I really like hanging on my wall from a wedding that I photographed. I don't know the couple at all except as their photographer.

Hang them up if they are your best work! It will remind you to keep doing what you love!

Part of me agrees with the part of you that thinks it is kind of weird to hang photos of strangers in your house:lol: But, what the heck, why not. Unless you are married and your wife does not like having pictures of other women decorating the walls, but that is a whole different discussion.

If you want to be "in the business" of shooting weddings, then sure, hang your best stuff!

If you're hanging them in your "office" then I would consider it more of a business thing and don't see any issue with it, I actually see it as more of a "must" than anything else. Promoting yourself is part of your job. Now, if you hung them in the living room...

Agree. I personally think it's a little weird to hang them in your own home.

Thnx for all of the replies pretty much what I expected, it is my home office which has nothing to do with photography, me and the wife decided to go ahead and put the best 16 of what I shot on the wall of the office no matter who or what the subject in the photo is.

Many, if not most, Pulitzer Prize winning photos are just what is being discussed, photos of strangers.
