Found this on facebook. I thought this video was really useful to help anybody decide what system they want to go with. A good friend of mine didn't know what full frame system to go with until I showed him this video. Great video for amateur like myself and so many others.

This isn't a "VS." thread so please leave those comments out. Personally I love both system.

Sorry if this has been already posted.

I like this review. The way he gave the pros and cons of each camera was good. Didn't seem to be bias toward either camera even though he choose the Canon in the end for himself. Sounds like both cameras are great.

Yes. There are a lot of comparison between the two. But so far this one is really good.

Another in field video discussed the Nikon green tint. And, as he mentions, some of the D800's are being recalled for poor focus issues with the left side focus points.

Overall a good review with excellent sliding graphics.

Could you post a link to that recall?

I was very close to going for a D800, lot of things to like in that camera. High megapixel count with a very small hit with high ISO is really attractive. Also excellent Dynamic Range where you are able to pull out tons of data out of shadows. But have too much invested in Canon lenses and accessories so went the 5DIII route. In reality if you look at all the reviews comparing these two cameras, the difference is really hard to see and both come out as excellent. Personally I am just happy to get something that is as good as a 5DII but with much better focus, and the 5DIII seems to deliver that in bunches.

Rick,

It's here on the Nikonians website (external link) in the D800 Forum. I joined about 6 months ago to follow the D800 when I was debating between it and the 5D3.

Another thread here. (external link) They seem to be having QC issues. I'll take a little light leak anytime.

If you can't get it because of password stuff, I'll cut and paste some of the posts there.

Such a great vid. It's refreshing to see a lack of bias.

Nikon was afraid of people complaining about focusing issues. They even released a technical guide for the D800. Most focusing problems are caused by the end user, not the camera. Doesn't matter which camera system it is. People complaining need to go out and shoot with it more than complain on forums. Of course there will be problems with the bodies from time to time but no brand is immune to it.

Yes. That's one thing that I noticed also. I really like videos like this just because it seem like a fair comparison between the two.
