Hi everyone,
I was originally going to post this in the 5DIII pictures thread as this is where the below images were posted, but thought it would be better to start a new thread.
I was going to ask elery2375 how he went about approaching a shoot like this? (Hopefully he'll see this and drop in too
)
I'm off to take some pics of a band's CD launch this weekend at one of the pubs. Not having shot inside a pub before I am wondering how you'd set up the camera. Would you place priority on shutter speed or aperture, or shoot in manual? I'd think manual would be difficult due to the constantly changing lighting. I'm taking a stab that perhaps auto iso as well or do you run the risk of the camera selecting too high an iso than you want?
That's a bit of rambling thoughts there. My thinking is to perhaps shoot in AV, evaluative metering, auto iso and minimum SS of 1/125. This would allow me to select the DOF I want, minimise blur from subject movement and then let the beast do the rest.
I'll be taking my 24-70 2.8 and my nifty fifty II, just 'cause it can give me 1.8
Thanks for any pointers you can spare.
(I should also point out that I don't expect to take images to the standard of elery2375, but if I can get close I'll be stoked.)
