I think that to say that the first shot is too wide for an engagement shoot is like saying the ring shot doesn't have enough person in it. Not every shot has to do all things. The client gets ALL the (selected) photos in the end. And in my judgment, they'll be glad to have all of them.

Agree, with above.

About the 1) I do like this picture. The couple don't get lost in the scene, and it shows what a beautiful location is. We do see other pictures with couple hugging and interacting with each other in the set anyway.

I never knew such a place exist in Fort Lee.

I actually like #1 and the one showing the ballet shoe (creative!). The one with the 3 photos, the color correction on her skin tone is a bit off. It's not the vintage soft type of desaturated look, but more of a straight white gray tone.

I think they're beautiful! Rich colors, happy couple, (strong legs!), and a wonderful assortment of poses and camera angles. Loved them!!! Furthermore, I'll bet the couple was thrilled.

My niece is using a pair of brother photographers for her upcoming wedding and I've looked through their website. They have many wide shots of couples in environments which was one of the things she and her fiancee liked about their work. I LIKE it even though I'm a croppy sort of gal.

If I had to quibble the only criticism I'd have is with the first grouping of three = the two stacked images on the left are a little disconcerting because of the headless shots seems too close to the shot above it. For me, I think maybe a tight close up of the clasped hands with her purple nail polish would have worked better in frame A, then the top left photo in frame B with frame C as is.
