How to do clothing photography? How to ahieve white background in post?

Hey guys. I have been given the job to do some local aloha shirt product shots. How do you guys achieve the white background in clothing shots. Here's an example I want to achieve: http://www.globaltexti​les.com …hirt/-hawaiian-shirt.html Do you have to achieve the pure white effect in photoshop? I would like to know the easiest way .

Also, does anyone know how to achieve the ghost mannequin effect?

That looks like a clipping path/silo. FWIW, in the industry these are typically referred to as 'lay downs' as opposed to 'on-figure'.

Not sure what you mean by "ghost mannequin effect"?
