Hi guys!

I just got an email from someone asking me if I offer photo editing services. I've never really thought about it, but I don't see why I can't offer that service.

So my question is how much do I charge for this? Is this a per photo thing or an hourly rate thing? Anyone have any experience with this? Please let me know! Thanks! :D

are you sorting? retouching? tagging with keywords? How are they going to transfer the images to you, and how will you return them?

These are all things to build into your quote.

Just retouching JPEGs. She's sending me all the pictures on a CD. I'll probably burn them on a CD and send it back to her.

It really depends on what she wants you to do with the photos. If it's simply just color corrections and minor skin touchup, then you could charge less as these will take you less time. However, if she needs you to remove braces, glasses reflection, clone people out, make her lose 30 pounds, then you'll have to charge more.

Once you see the files, then you could evaluate how long you think it'll take you and price accordingly. On average, you shouldn't charge less than $10 per image. If you're very skilled photo editor, then you could demand more (I know a wedding photographer that charges $75 per image).

Oh wow, that's alot more than I thought. I'm in the wrong business. I should get into photo editing instead of wedding photography! ^_^ j/k j/k

Thanks for the inputs!
