Nice shot. Her eyes are captivating. The fence board is causing a bit of a soft shadow on those wonderful eyes, and a very, slight adjustment might help. Based on where the shadow falls, it bifurcates the face into two separate "zones": (1) the part of the face in the shadow; and (2) the part of the face out of the shadow. From a holistic standpoint, it's subconsciously distracting.

Keep in mind, the eye orbits are already going to be a bit darker, due to the natural recess. The additional soft shadow from the fence board doesn't add a dramatic effect, or anything particularly necessary, so a bit of recovery in that area may diminish any visual angst.

The shadow is so subtle, that an adjustment isn't necessary, just an observation.

Thanks for the feedback....I totally agree. I've tried to lessen the effect of the darker zone with little success. Any suggestion on how to accomplish this. I use LR3 and PS cs6. thanks again

Quick Mask use the paint brush to select the area then select/inverse then levels.

I posted this yesterday but not in here. This was one from my first photo shoot.
This is Kelly, one of my closest friends. We kept the bass dirty because she's in a heavy metal band and decided it fit the image.

The OOF blob on the right is fighting the subject. I don't think the dead center comp is the best so if you would have shot with the subject far right in the frame you would have been able to leave out the bright blobs in the right side of the frame. Nice job and not including the outta focus tree trunk and snow on the right and ya got an even better portrait because now I see only what I'm suppose to see.

I see what you mean, thing is I like the tree... but then the snow blobs are a bit of a distraction. Luckily it was just a test shot really, so I could try out the new lens and then a new processing style.
I do like the advice you get on here, for instance from now on I'm going to pay a lot more attention to random (usually bright) areas that can ruin a photograph, try to 'angle' them out.
I think in general the processing looks ok though, I've re-done it so its not quite as bright in the whites and I think it does look better.
