Nice captures, but the background is very distracting. I think a very fast prime lens, even like the uber cheap 50mm f 1.8 ("Nifty Fifty") would help blur them out and make your skaters 'pop out' from the background more.

nice, agree - the BG is distracting but given that venue i don't what you could have done (other than get in the pool)

It appears that you're pretty low to the ground already, but perhaps you can lay on the ground, or just hold the camera right on the edge and shoot blindly in order to get the skater with more of a sky background in these high crowd situations. One can get pretty proficient shooting blindly with practice. :D

I agree about the backgrounds. In that first one, I had to look a few seconds, to figure out where his head was. But, I also agree that I'm not sure how you would have gotten around it, given the circumstances.

Great action though. My son has started skateboarding.......ma​ybe I can capture him doing this one day! LOL
