May 17, 2012 07:33 | #2 Nice captures, but the background is very distracting. I think a very fast prime lens, even like the uber cheap 50mm f 1.8 ("Nifty Fifty") would help blur them out and make your skaters 'pop out' from the background more. My pictures: John Wilke Photography

May 17, 2012 08:00 | #4 It appears that you're pretty low to the ground already, but perhaps you can lay on the ground, or just hold the camera right on the edge and shoot blindly in order to get the skater with more of a sky background in these high crowd situations. In that first one, I had to look a few seconds, to figure out where his head was. But, I also agree that I'm not sure how you would have gotten around it, given the circumstances.
