I am efforting decent quality pics, but my lighting is pretty poor and I haven't had much time to devote lately.

However, I have a Brown Thrasher couple coming repeatedly to my platform feeder now. They visit multiple times per day to take the peanut halves. Like Grackles and Blue Jays, they take about 5 at a time and zoom off to either eat them or stash them....I don't know that Thrashers stash food.

I am wondering if any of you have seen Thrashers ON your feeders instead of solely thrashing around underneath them. This is one of my more rare and elusive birds and I would like to know your experiences with them. Thanks.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.

If I put shelled peanuts in the regular bird feeder my Brown Thrashers will eat from the feeder once they find out they're there. Other than that..they stay under the feeders or out in the open searching for bugs. Mealworms work well for Thrashers as well.

The Thrashers here stick to the ground and are always around. But I haven't put anything they like in the feeder yet. I think they have a nest in a thick bush not far from the feeder.

One got on a gas line a foot off the ground the other day and sit there for 30 minutes it seemed. Doves, Robins, Jays and Thrashers just will not let me have a photo up on a perch for a better background.

My lighting is terrible also, but the 430EX ii lets me shoot with confidence now in that area. My next issue is to stop the feeder and perch from moving around.

The Thrasher blends in with the ground so well I can't get a good photo. But I'll keep trying.

My feeders are set up close to my window for easy shooting. I have them under a tree for lots of perches, too. However, being under a tree I'm shooting in shade with bright backgrounds. :(
