Do you do all your work in-house?

I like your website. Will go back now and see if I can get google to translate it for me.

We have a small print shop here in Helsinki. Well, not that small to be honest, but we're not a big company. It's just me and my father. The entire production process (and sometimes the design as well) is done by either one of us here at the shop, always.

Glad you like the website -- I don't! I'm redesigning them over the holidays, the layout is from the mid-2000's (done by my dad), so in desperate need of redesign...

I noticed the '412' prefex...LOL! I used to live near Pittsburgh.

As for the card. I don't care for the color of the background. Using all caps is very hard to read, especially on your contact info. I would use caps on the first word, like 'ChemistPhotography.com'. I would ditch the gmail e-mail and use your own e-mail (info@ChemistPhotography.com) or something like that.

Not sure about the vertical format either. It seems too scrunched on the bottom.

I agree with everything Mike just said, except for the living in Pittsburgh part

try and light/medium grey background with white lettering and yes, ditch the CAPS

Thank you for the input, folks.

I'll take the ideas into serious consideration for sure!

The only things I'd like to add is that as the name suggests; the idea behind the card is that it's an element. As if, you're being handed an element from the periodic table of elements.

It's a pun, I suppose - but I thought it was pretty clever when designing it.

Dean.

It is clever. It's neat. It is cool you got something interesting and geeky to work from. Lots of folks make play off the periodic table.
I "got it" and I flunked every lesson in science class from day 1. But you explained what it is. Will you be giving this card out to people who may not "get it"? If so, you might want to consider adding a bit to it to make it more easily recognizable.
If you search periodic table of elements at neatorama dot com you can see some fun spins on the table. Here is a link, if links are allowed on this forum: http://www.neatorama.com …eriodic+table+of+elements (external link)

I don't like the color choice, but I like the idea. Maybe simple black and white would be better? You know the whole "element" thing can look great because Adobe did it. I think that it might look better as a landscape, use up just a tad more space! Also, take a second look at your kerning. It looks a bit messy on my monitor.

Good luck, sir

I find the font difficult to read. A font should not be too "different" so that it makes it difficult to read your message. When it gets worse for me as far as fonts, is when letters touch each other making it even more difficult to read your web address or email address. You want those to be clear and not confusing.

Came up with this design today let me know what can be improved. Want to keep it simple, my wife and I run the business together and would like to only have one card.

I am in the process of trying to create a look for the company that will carry over to our FB page and to our upcoming website.

We are not full time photographers but every so often we get asked for a card and want something to pass out.

I like seeing all of the cards in this thread. Here is mine. I'm just starting out and my website still needs some work (contact info, and a better image resizing function).
