I know it will break the bank. But I am thinking of replacing all of my flashes and picking up the 600's and the new STE. I have been thinking of going mainly speedlites for a while now. As I do 90% on location. But with the release of the 600's and STE it has really pushed me to the edge.

The RT function is calling me like a sirens song. I just hope I wont end up on the rocks. But to be able to place the light and never touch it again till I'm done, will save a ton of time. Especially some of the places I tend to put lights. I am not shy at putting the light where it needs to be vs. where it is convenient to put it. Wether it is with the TTL or manual mode, its handing me the cool-aid, and Im pretty thursty!.

I will keep the mono lights I have for the other 10%. And in fact may still get one more.

Anybody else thinking of doing this as well?

I did it and am happy. I especially like how I can use my apollo soft box without a cable. It's expensive... if I was a professional i probably would not have done it. But as a hobbyst I didn't really need to justify it from a return on investment perspective.

The RT works great, the menus are better... it's a nice system.

I use PW to trigger my Canon flashes and Alien Bee.... Canon's system can't do that so I have to stay...

I dont shoot mixed that often. But when I do I have enough flashes to dedicate one to only trip the optical trigger on the mono light.

I believe that Canon is on the right track on the 600ex-rt and maybe going to pickup another 600ex-rt
