I am stuck between these two lenses. I am going into videography, and need low apperature and great light/color capture and detail. I know the 1.4 is better then the 1.8, but is it worth the bucks? a noticable difference?

here are the two lenses. can someone give some feedback?

the f1.8

and the f1.4

This is the 50mm lens you want if your going to be doing videography.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …Prime_CP_2_50mm_T2_1.html (external link) If you don't want to spend that much I would go for the Canon 50mm f/1.4. It is built a lot better then the Canon 50mm f/1.8.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

$369 , is it worth the price difference.

Heres a $4000 lens, you should get

Lol.

In my experiance with both, obviously ther is the one F stop and a better build quality, but the IQ is close. I guess it depends on your needs.

You could go through 3 nifty fiftys and still be under the 1.8. ;)

I would recommend the 50 f/1.4 if you are into videography. F/1.4 should help with the low light stuff and the build quality is much better than the 1.8.

If you're going to be doing manual focus, the 50 f1.4 has a much nicer/easier to use focus ring.

If you're going to be doing all manual focus, look at some of the 3rd party MF options, there are lots that are as good or better optically than either of the lenses you're looking at and they're often much cheaper.

50 1.4 has better build quality, but you can break the 1.8 3 times and still spend less
