After seeing Ian's (Wallace River) black bear shots a few days ago I thought "geez, what luck! Right in his own driveway..."
Then this fellow strolled by the school where I work as a daycare teacher...right across the street from our playground... at 1:30 in the afternoon...
After sniffing around a few garbage bins, he/she eventually strolled off, escorted by one of our local provincial police cruisers.

:D:D and he's a BIG one too! Glad you had the opportunity, Mike! Someone should tell that woman her door should be closed, not open, when a big old bear like that is poking around. Did you see the CBC National news a couple of days ago, they were all excited that a black bear had been seen near Milton, about 40 miles outside Toronto. Still makes me glad to live where I do to consider such things relatively commonplace.

Hi Ian, yeah after two trips to the dump looking for bears this one shows up at work. Go figure.
And our community just lost it's "Bear Technician" due to funding cuts...things could get interesting over the summer!
