Nuevos Ministerios

Went out with my camera yesterday and ended up near Nuevos Ministerios, when I remembered that inside the Metro station is also a largely disused area of airport check-in desks - intended to be an inner-city express check-in for the airport before security made it no longer viable - that I've walked through a few times ... I decided to go in and take a few pictures.

Despite this area also being home to a transport Police station, I wasn't in any way bothered despite climbing around the equipment a few times in search of images ... most of which didn't make this set. This lack of intrusion makes me tempted to return with a tripod because available light did mean these were often at high ISO and low aperture but I'm pretty pleased with them anyway ...

Thanks. I'm not sure if I managed to pick a quiet time of day, or if simply not that many people use this exit/part of the station ... my girlfriend has lived in Madrid for two years and never seen them ...

Quiet for sure, I thought it was closed....

The area is open access during Metro operating hours, although most of these were taken either away (or looking away) from the main thoroughfare ... there are a few people in the background of #1, including an open office for one of the car rental firms still operating from Nuevos Ministerios despite the (essentially) closure of this facility ... in the background of #6-8 you can see the lights from the rest of the Metro station ...
