Two House Finch couples have appeared recently when I resumed filling my Nyjer seeds feeder - logical, but in the previous years I had only Goldfinches in my backyard. This is a series I could take on 6 May afternoon during a short sun spell.

Thanks for looking; C&C welcome

1. Mr and Mrs

2. Where did she go?

3. Alone in that tree

4. and 5. were a tad too far and the light was not great in that tree, as a result slow shutter speed and softness - but I wanted to post these two nevertheless due to a strong cuteness factor - I think.

4.

Nice.
Number 5 would be incredible if it is possible to selectively bring the female's face into the light. They are snuggling up together. Easy for lovebirds in a cage, not easy for wild birds.

Scotty, I agree; unfortunately they were perching in the shade of a pine tree and not very well lit. I shot all I could, but these were the only two worth rescuing. I did not trying dodging the female's face; maybe I should.
Thanks for the comment.

Same # 5 with the female's face and the male's throat dodged; I tried not to overdo it.
C&C welcome.
