Hi folks, my Win 7 PC will not recognise CR2 files from my G1x, which is listed as a supported camera type in the Raw documentation. I cannot open them in Photoshop CS5 nor in Lightroom 4.

I have attempted to install the Cameraraw 6.6 and 7-1 updates but in both cases I get the error screen "Update Failed, could not be applied". I then get the Error Code: U44M2I218 which on searching, seems to refer to Adobe Media Player issues, nothing to do with raw files.

I have also installed Adobe DNG converter and it does not recognise any of my CR2 files.

Please can someone help me access these Cr2 files?

Thanks in advance,
Jo

I'm not sure why the DNG Convertor wouldn't be working. It should have been able to convert G1X CR2 files since the v6.7 Beta release back in March or April. That's what I've been using, anyway (on WIndows 7).

I know, that's the annoying thing - this should all be working fine but isn't.
I'm now running the Adobe Application Manager Update to all my Adobe programs, fingers crossed this helps.

Right, so now I can open CR2s in Lightroom and Photoshop. However, Canon's own Digital Photo Professional 3.5.2.0 will NOT open them.
Any other suggestions?

The version of DPP that shipped with my G1X is 3.11.3.10. Did you update DPP with the CD that came with your G1X?
