Try doing it without the selection. The selection is telling Photoshop that only things inside of the selection can be changed so anything below that layer will still show as it previous was. This does require more work on pin placement. PW will stretch move the areas around the parts that you want moved so all portions are filled in. This function doesn't always look good on all images. I have found that it works best when you working on something that is in front of a solid color or constant pattern.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Thanks Sheldon, but i find if I do it without the selection,it throws the mesh over the entire image and distorts it, I watched a tutorial on this and it dosent happen to the tutors image,he waves the limb round like a flag!

I watched that video and the author of that tutorial picked an image that would work perfectly with PW. You will notice that he was working on an arm that had nothing but a blue sky (not even any clouds) behind the element that he wanted to move. The selection limited the move to just that part and if you notice in his layers panel he was working on a duplicate. The blue sky from the original background layer was filling in the parts of the mesh that would have been left vacant by this action. As I said above it works great for this kind of image. If you are trying to warp something that has a distinct element behind it, it becomes alot tougher to use. You can try and clone in over the leg you are getting but I am just guessing that it might be possible as I haven't seen the image in question. You might have to do some masking as well. Its hard to say without seeing the shot you are working on.
