I was in Wilmington this past week for a tech show and had a opportunity to go out on Cape Fear River. I grabbed a shot of the battleship.

Very cool.

The USS Iowa (external link) is preparing to leave the San Francisco Bay Area and become a permanent fixture as a museum in the Port of Los Angeles.

I'm hoping for the chance to see it leave when it passes under the Golden Gate Bridge on her final journey.

That would be a awesome shot!

I really like your angle of this image. The lighting and post processing work well.

just a few of my thoughts...

Whilst the vessel looks great, the processing does something very strange to the rest of the image.
There is something very odd going on around the treeline.

Me too! Just looking at the ships makes me realize that So many lives were sacrificed on these boats for my freedom.

Nice angle on the battleship. The restaurant one is very good too considering how packed it was downtown this weekend with the HMS Bounty in town at the same time as 3 proms.

I took some shots of the HMS Bounty but they were not pleasing to me. I enjoyed shooting the river front it was very interesting. I was there for a tech show at the Hilton.
