Shoot in RAW, and go from there. Can usually get a pretty good pic of a black dog that way if you are lucky. Great composure on this shot, though I would've unhooked the leash (if hes good off leash like my dog) Josh

Great composure on this shot, though I would've unhooked the leash (if hes good off leash like my dog) Thanks, I always shoot RAW, and this was during the "golden hour" I had the sun on his left side but agree a reflector or fill flash on the right side would have helped a lot.

When I'm taking pictures of my dog, its always just as hard to get a good shot, no matter where the sun is. Perhaps that is partly to blame on my Xti though? I do notice a bit of an improvement when using my friends Xsi and I really cant wait to get my 60D and try with that. Josh
