Do you guys mean that the world is not tilted? I always thought it's because of that 23 degrees axis tilt thing that everything looks lopsided to me. My tilted photos portray reality as I perceive it, filtered through the gestalt of my pranic presence.

I'm with FlyingPhotog. If you notice that all your tilts seem to be towards the right, it could be that you are unconciously pushing the camera down as you press the shutter button.

Most often, our camera is not aimed perfectly parallel to the ground, so converging verticals are present to throw off one's perception of 'straight up', as shown here

When I need to shoot a shot like this, I align the center AF point and the points above and below it with a vertical line as much as I can. If there isn't a vertical near the center, I find the nearest one and then rotate back to my intended composition.

When I look at my handheld shot pics on the computer, then most of them have a slight tilt. 1 or 2 °degrees, clearly not a big deal but visible. I am just wondering, why I don't see that while I am taking the picture. Is that something other people encounter? Am I just a twisted photographer?

Example:

Although a lot of good points have been posted here, I personally figure that you nailed the answer in your first post!

'Course, I'm coming from my own viewpoint, knowing that I am not just a twisted photogrpher, but am basically an all-around twisted person:)!

I consider myself "vertically challenged"

I fix that all the time.
