It's a sunrise :) I appreciate the feedback. I was going for a classic painting type look in the pp and not sure if that worked or not.

Tough crowd here as usual :)

The "tough" part of the crowd is that it can be real hit or miss about getting feedback here, and I don't think it necessarily says anything about the quality of the image. I'm just now noticing your post and I think it's wonderful! I love how sharp the sunrise image appears from foreground to background terminating beautifully with that silhouetted pier in the far background.

The vignetting/darkness on the right side of the frame is a wee bit darker than I would prefer, but overall I love the look of it. My favorite part is the reflected sunrise colors in the water leading up to the pier. Beautiful work!

I really like the birds shot as well. Nice subject isolation on the focus.

What camera/lens was used for these?

Awesome avatar by the way! :)

Thanks David. These were both shot with my travel camera the NEX5N. The first shot was with a Zeiss 18mm ZM and the second "bird" shot was with a Zeiss Contax G 90mm.

Those NEX cameras really produce fantastic images...and I thought I could spot some sweet Zeissness going on in your photos, so I appreciate you confirming that!

Hi rioni, I like both images as well. I think Dave hit it on the head with the sunrise. I like the birds better myself. The only thing that I dont like about it (and this is very minimal) are the buildings on the right in background are slightly distracting, maybe its just the tall building now that I look at it again. I have a tough time looking for these things in my background when I am shooting. otherwise I think these are both great shots.
Best,
Doug

Very nice, both of them. I like the colors of the sunrise - it doesn't look too overly photoshopped which is always good
