Hi,

i know that this has been discussed alot in lots of area. i got my 5D3 last friday and tested it in a wedding on Sat. It's AF was alot better than my 5D2 in low light.

I am getting alot more focus photos in 1st dance.

Im now using the AI Focus rather than One Shot. I set my 1st and 2nd photo priority to focus priority rather than release. I know i need to read the manual. i still have the bad habit of focus then recompose..

If you are using one 5D3, I like to know your setting on AF to get the shot right.

thank you for sharing,
Scott

I leave mine in Single Shot mode and use the DOF preview button to switch to AI Servo mode only when necessary, which is pretty much only the isle walk, reception entrances, and the dances.

I leaved the AF settings to their defaults. I find no reason to change them for weddings. Release/focus priority is really up to you. I leave everything in the middle, or prefer focus priority. Work very well. So much better than the 5D2 or pretty much every other camera I've owned in the past.

Nicksan,
Thanks for sharing. I love the silent shutter. makes me feel sneaky -> gd in church.

With AI Servo, do you get AF confirmation? I never feel right to click the shutter when i do not know that focus is locked. might be worth trying that out.

I don't recall getting focus confirmation on AI Servo.

Yup, love the Silent mode. It really is awesome during the ceremony.
