A friend of mine here in Germany found this Impact stand deal at B&H

http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ster_Century_C_Stand.html (external link)

The problem is, when you calculate the shipping and tax/import duties, it adds about $260 to the price. So, I have a few qustions to help us figure what to do?

Does anyone have suggestions for getting them to Germany for less than that?

It seems we can't find Impact brand here in Germany - does anyone knoww if they are sold in Germany under a different brand?

How does this stand compare to the Manfrotto Avenger A2033FKIT or A2030DKIT? It looks like we could get them for close to the same price as haviong B&H ship the Impact kit here.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Yeah the shipping and duties make it much much less attractive, as is the case with most things heavy and bulky shipped from the US.

In all my time I have never seen Impact products being sold anywhere in Europe at all.

Personally I would look at alternatives like the Avenger you mention from local suppliers like Calumet Germany and even on eBay - second hand and new options. I doubt you'll find anything in the price range of the Impact you posted though. It's conceivable to find something like the sets you mentioned around the €280 mark but anything less would mean that the arm and knuckle will not be included in the price.

Sometimes, though not often I see the odd c-stand being sold used on the German language forums too.
