I saw and photographed 3 species of toucans while in Costa Rica. I had gotten good images of the Chestnut-Mandibled and the Keel-Billed in 2009 but I was unhappy with my Collared Aracari shots from that trip. This time I got better images of the Aracari.

1. Young Collared Aracari hanging upside down feeding on the fruit and seeds of a Heliconia plant. From Tortuguero National Park

2. Chestnut-Mandibled Toucan photograped in Tortuguero National Park. Unfortunately a very steep angled image but the only one of this species from my January trip.

3. Keeled-Billed Toucan - Taken on "finca" (farm) where I also photographed the wild macaws.

4. Another Collared Aracari shots again from Tortuguero National Park

Wonderful shots Stephen, the Collared Aracari is a new one to me, pretty bird.

Sharon thank you. Yes it is a handsome bird. The adult has a more colour on its bill but this juvenile was still a treat to photograph
