I thought "what could be more challenging than shooting in thick fog?" Here are a couple shots from today...

Edited in Adobe Lightroom 4

Yeah, I keyed the whites up quite a bit to create some separation.....maybe too much though. Is the fog making the images look flat? I tried to "Pop" them as much as I could in LR, it's just that the fog was quite thick

The saturation levels appear to be very high, greens are too vibrant for a foggy day.

I'd also tone down the greens and change the hue

Agree with the others. No 3 is the best of the bunch. The others need a bit toning down.

Fog is a natural desaturating agent so pumping up the greens makes the image seem 'wrong' to the brain. Either tone it down or create a gradient with the most vivid colour in the foreground.
I am liking the 'road to nowhere' motif though :)

I like your last edit and I tend to like saturated colors. Fog is very challenging and I've never been completely happy with my attempts at it. When most people think of fog they think of thick heavy desaturating stuff, but there can be low ground fog which is very bright when lit by direct sunlight above. And this is the feel that I get from your images. So I don't think that the brightness nor the saturated colors spoil the image.

thanks for all the feedback...so I tried to tone down the bright colors some and this is what I came up with. I'm really trying not to lose the contrast. The OOC image was really flat and boring..

Anyone feel like editing these images may do so, i'd be interested to see other ideas. maybe B&W?

Thanks

This is exactly what was going on, it was foggy but very bright. picture was taken at about 12:30 P.M. although, I did up the vibrancy in LR4..

I like the last one best! Agree about it being a bit too saturated though ... but in the fog, non-vibrant colours can look great and really suit the mood.
