Milky way, darkest place in the eastern US

yeah I know about the annual star party there, I heard it gets pretty crowded. there were probably a good 30-40 people there Saturday. I only stayed for one night, but I do plan on going back again. maybe for the meteor shower in August. that would be a great site.

and let me tell you....I saw So many satellites that night I went. you can even see some of them blinking. it was quite amazing!

You'll enjoy it for sure ! Those satellites that blink are actually called "Tumbling Satellites" cause they tumble end over end which when photographed you'll see dark spaces in between the trail instead of a solid trail of light .

I have a very very good friend that lives about 2 miles from Cherry springs (to the east). One of my Favorite places to visit in PA, Wonderfully quiet and peaceful.

#2 is a five minute track... anything attached to the earth that is in the frame is going to be blurred.

Aware of that lol, just making a comment. Loved the photos still.

Number 1 is a sheer win. Number 2 has too much blur in the trees (wind I assume). Three has too many stars!!!

Having said that I love all three!

For # 2 I wonder if you could make a composite of the long exposure for the starfield and same exact zoom but shorter exposure to capture the foreground as crisp trees/foliage.
